"The call of the Amazons is almost pure instinct, sending out a cry to get her children back home."
The Amazons are male and female players who appreciated strong, and positive female roles in games. We all enjoy playing as female avatars online. We don't judge, and we welcome diversity. We are a matriarchal led themed gaming community. We are mainly a PvP-RP guild since it fits our theme. We enjoy doing dungeon runs as a guild as well as player versus player. We enjoy casual RP that centers around our theme.
"Established early 2008. Themiscyra is a matriarchal community comprised of open minded, mature individuals. We are a generally an PvP-RP guild since it fits our theme. We enjoy doing dungeon runs with the guild. Not all of our members are female in real life and male players will always be welcome. All of our members play a female avatar since its our theme. A female character in a game who holds a sword or a stave and fights for what they believe in can be referred to as an 'Amazon'. It is a name that symbolizes our theme for one who rises above a society's/faction's standards, such a person will be welcomed in our guild with open arms. As an Amazon you should consider yourself a team player and respect our Code of Honor (mandatory read). Once you join you will forever be a part of our ever growing gaming family. Feel free to browse our website." ~ Matriarch, Founder
"We have a balance mix of RL (real life) Men and Women players. Some of us play female Avatars in the games we play together. For example I am infact a Guy IRL, but I've always been one to appreciate the strong woman lead in Movies and Video Games so 99% of the time I play a female character in every MMO. We tend to call each other 'sisters' not just for RP but for respect to our community theme, but also because all the characters in every game are female." ~ War Siren

OUR LORE & GENERAL ROLEPLAY (Our Origin story can be found here)
"Nestled deep within the clouds, Themiscyra stands tall as a symbol of female strength, and power. Many years have passed and the savage tribe of Amazons of Kush in Cimmeria (ie. Age of Conan) are no more. Some of us are the reincarnated souls of many women who perished due to war and calamity and called forth by the goddess Morrigan, the Raven Queen. Not unlike the legendary Valkyrie of Norse Mythology, we have found the strength to venture back and reclaim our united ancestry and bring the souls of like minded sisters to fight once more. Recruiting strong sisters along the way, together we go forth to settle in many worlds. Our numbers grow each day, joined by strong and passionate women whose blood runs Amazon. The call of the Amazons is almost pure instinct, sending out a cry to get her children back home." ~ Matriarch
"Not in strength are we inferior to men; the same our eyes, our limbs the same; one common light we see, one air we breathe; nor different is the food we eat. What then denied to us hath heaven on man bestowed. Nothing." ~ Penthesilea
"Though not mandatory, some members in the Amazons enjoy roleplaying strong, fearless and proud female warriors in the games they play. As combat ready warriors, we Amazons are strong and proud! Forged in battle, we favor the strong willed and frown upon the weak hearted, always looking out for our own. We are sexy and empowered. We have no room for serving maids, tavern whores or any individual lacking in spirit." ~ Syeira
"We do not hate all men – just those fail to show us respect as warriors or any who would prey on the weak! And you, thankfully, are far too weak to deserve to die on my weapon… but not so unworthy as to taste my fist!” ~ Arreis (during a tavern brawl)
"I feel compelled to mention this and forgive me I will ramble from time to time. I was playing last night and it had been awhile since I have been able to. Even now at times it has been limited much because of my job and all. But this fact remains true and it’s what I believe is one of the greatest merit’s of this community that we are apart of and also sets us apart from any that I have seen or heard of. It is that we are a part of a family with Matriarch as its den mother. Always watching out for us. We share in the riches and the not so good times of the game. I was on last night and was given an item within seconds that could have been sold for a good deal of gold. I mean it was in the mail in seconds. I was also helped with might in a quest with just a hint of help, just a hint helped me greatly. These are just to name a few of things. The character of the people in this guild is more than outstanding. I see great things in our future. A shining beacon to call home. Thank you!"- Sheerion
"First of all... Amazons of Hyboria was the first guild I ever cared about. AoC was my first mmo and when I came to the sisters I felt like I was home. It was special and we all knew it. AoH is still apart of me and when the Queen left it was painful. Not because I had a close relationship with the Queen. To be honest she probably didn't know i existed.... But our Queen Atalanta was gone. How could anyone replace her? That's when I left and I watched the end from the outside... The Amazons of Hyboria were lost and so was I. I spent so long looking for that again. Looking back now... maybe i should have stayed to the end but it was too painful. Now having said that... No it will never be the same. But look around I see strong, confident sisters and now our true Queen is with us. We have a great future and more glory to come! If i were to leave tomorrow i would still be an Amazon in my heart forever. We play in a gaming world but the heart of the amazons is no game. Our feelings are real, our tears are real and the love for our sister and our Queen is real! Just my feelings..." - Mistriss
